Metal Halide Light Controllers

MERCRON makes several models for each lamp type.

Before ordering, please contact MERCRON to determine the most appropriate model for your application.

Y-models - which include onboard power factor correctors - are generally required when multiple lamp ballasts (Light Controllers) are used in a single installation, and/or for operation in Europe. The model number prefix will be HY.

When ordering, be sure to specify correct version: 120 VAC or 230 VAC.
MERCRON will confirm the prefix of the correct model number.

3 HQI lamp is technically classified as a MH (Metal Halide) lamp; however, it has the voltage and current rating of a Sodium lamp. Therefore, it is listed here with other MH lamps, but requires a Sodium Light Controller; hence, its model number is different.

TUNGSTEN Light Controllers

As long as the lamps are connected in series, MERCRON's Light Controllers can regulate any combination of lamps that equal (+/-) the light controller model number, encoded to indicate total wattage and voltage.

For example, a TXC300 will regulate either:
one    300 watt / 72 volt lamp; or -
three  100W / 24V lamps; or -
four      75W / 18V lamps; or -
six        50W / 12V lamps; or -
twelve  24W / 6V lamps…etc.

MERCRON's Light Controllers are voltage tolerant. A 300-watt lamp load could operate over a range of 60-to-84 volts; e.g., six 50W/10V lamps could be used instead of six 50W/12V lamps. (There is some leeway on total wattage as well).
